The story
From vote to storefront in fourteen months.
The vote that made it possible.
Missouri passed Amendment 3. Adults twenty-one and up could buy, possess, and grow cannabis legally. Existing medical dispensaries got first shot at adult-use licenses. A handful of new operators, us included, started the paperwork marathon.
We knew what we wanted to build. Missouri's first Black and woman owned cannabis boutique, in The Grove, running the way a neighborhood restaurant runs. Doors open early, staff paid right, standards kept tight.
Day one of adult-use sales.
Sales opened statewide. We opened with them. First customer in the door before 9 AM, last transaction after 10 PM. Pendant lighting, curated shelves, a floor team that had been drilled on every product for weeks.
The line wrapped down Vandeventer. We kept it moving. We kept it warm. The neighborhood showed up, and then kept coming back.
Delivery hits the road.
We put same-day delivery on the road across the St. Louis metro. Ten-dollar flat fee, waived over seventy-five. Most orders land in 60 to 90 minutes, availability confirmed at checkout. The floor stayed conversational. Nobody got rushed.
We added the loyalty program that year, so the regulars who got us through the first twelve months actually benefited from being regulars.

The founder
Adrienne Scales-Williams built the first of its kind.
Adrienne Scales-Williams is the founder and owner of Luxury Leaf, Missouri's first Black and woman owned licensed cannabis dispensary. She opened the doors in The Grove on the first day of adult-use sales, turning a years-long licensing marathon into a storefront the neighborhood could call its own.
Her vision was never a smoke shop. It was an atelier for cannabis: a calm, composed room where the shelf is curated like a wellness counter, the budtenders are paid like the professionals they are, and the conversation matters as much as the product. “Where Class Meets Cannabis” is not a tagline she inherited. It is the standard she set on day one and has held to since.
That standard is rooted in place. Luxury Leaf sits among the makers and restaurateurs of The Grove, and it is run the way the best of them are run: doors open early, standards kept tight, and the same team many regulars now know by name. Being first carries weight. Adrienne treats it as a responsibility to do it well, not a headline to coast on.

Our floor team is paid above the St. Louis cannabis-retail average. Tips go to staff. Delivery drivers are W-2 employees, not contractors. Customer loyalty reflects staff loyalty.

Step outside and you're
in the middle of it.
Walking through our doors at Vandeventer and Chouteau, you step into one of the most energetic stretches of south St. Louis. Urban Chestnut's tasting room is a block away. Sasha's and Rise Coffee are two blocks out. Forest Park is a six-minute drive north.
The Grove built Luxury Leaf. It keeps us honest. It keeps our shelves stocked the way St. Louis actually wants them, not the way a corporate buyer in another state thinks they should look.

How late is Luxury Leaf open?
Luxury Leaf is open 7 AM to 10 PM Monday through Saturday, and 8 AM to 7 PM on Sunday — open seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Walk in any day including holidays. Same-day delivery runs 9 AM to 7 PM; order earlier in the day for same-day, with availability confirmed at checkout.

Do I need a medical card to shop?
No. Recreational cannabis is legal in Missouri for adults 21 and older. Bring a valid government-issued ID.
Missouri voted yes on Amendment 3 in November 2022. Recreational sales opened in February 2023. Medical patients get a tax break and higher purchase limits.

How much cannabis can I buy in one transaction?
Adults 21+ can purchase up to 3 ounces of flower or equivalent per transaction. Medical patients can buy up to 6 ounces per 30 days.
Equivalents are set by Missouri DHSS: 1 oz flower = 8 g concentrate = 800 mg edible. We track purchases through Metrc seed-to-sale.

Does Luxury Leaf deliver to my address?
We deliver across the St. Louis metro, seven days a week, 9 AM to 7 PM. Same-day delivery typically lands within 60 to 90 minutes; availability is confirmed at checkout.
$10 flat delivery fee, waived on orders over $75. Service rings cover The Grove core, extended city neighborhoods, and a suburban halo from Clayton to Kirkwood.

What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash and Dutchie Pay. An ATM is on-site. No debit cards, no credit cards, no checks.
Federal banking rules keep credit cards out of cannabis retail nationwide. Dutchie Pay links securely to your bank account for a fast checkout, and there's an ATM on-site if you'd rather pay cash.
